St. Luke's Church and Bryony House
At St. Luke’s Church, we believe that being a neighbour means more than simply living or worshipping alongside one another—it means caring for, supporting, and walking with one another. One of our closest neighbours is Bryony House, a shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
At St. Luke’s, we believe that loving our neighbour means putting our faith into action.
Through the generosity of our congregation and the Anglican Church foundation. ” Say Yes to Kids “campaign, we have been able to provide approximately $5,000 each of the last 4 years to Bryony House. These funds help create moments of comfort, joy, and normalcy for children and families who have often left their homes suddenly, sometimes with nothing but the clothes they are wearing.
A birthday cake. A special gift. A Halloween costume. A chance for children and teenagers to take part in activities with peers. These may seem like small things, but in the midst of a difficult journey, they can remind a child that they are safe, valued, and cared for and not alone.
We are grateful to everyone who gives and makes this ministry possible. Together, we are putting our faith into action, showing God’s love through compassion, generosity, and care for our neighbours.
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18
